Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM)

Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) is Malaysia's largest institution of higher learning in terms of size and population since its inception in 1956. Beside the main campus in Shah Alam, the university has expanded nationwide with 12 state campuses, 6 satellite campuses in Shah Alam, 11 state satellite campuses and 21 affiliated colleges. With this vast network and a workforce of 17,770, the university offers more than 500 academic programmes in a conducive and vibrant environment. It is also home to some 175,200 students. The main mission is to enhance the knowledge and expertise of native students in all fields of study through professional programmes, research work and community service based on moral values and professional ethics. UiTM Sarawak has three campuses and approximately 7000 students aiming a ratio of 60 science: 40 arts graduates. The university also has a special programme known as “Destiny change” in which the native students who fail to get a place at university because of insufficient merit, the rising cost of higher education and a failure in the race for a place to study at the university are given a second chance based on the student's eligibility to either Pre or Pre Sciences courses. The University has embarked on Blended learning recently with on-going training for lecturers on developing E-content of courses
