Workshop on Blended Learning using Software Clickers takes place in Bangladesh

On May 28, 2019, Bangladesh Open University and Aalborg University, Denmark hosted a workshop on blended learning in Gazipur, Bangladesh through Skype. Workshop participants included Bachelor of Education (BEd) student and faculty members from the School of Education at Bangladesh Open University (BOU). The main speaker was Dr. Md. Saifuddin Khalid, Associate Professor, University of Southern Denmark and External Lecturer at Aalborg University, Denmark. Dr. Khalid gave two short lectures on the use of software clickers in teaching-learning activities, hands-on activities on using Socrative – one of the software clicker applications and introduced the BLT blended learning platform (moodle.blteae.eu).

Dr Khalid led an in-depth discussion on Software Clickers and encouraged the B.Ed students and faculty members to participate in the interactive session. To demonstrate the use of software clickers, he invited the students and the teachers to read and write answers to several questions and quizzes using Socrative. The workshop was part of a series of activities organised to foster higher standards and quality education concepts and practices through innovation, which the partners of the European project BLT Blended Learning for Teacher Educators are committed to offer students, teachers and teacher-educators. Professor Dr. Khondoker Mokaddem Hossain, Pro-Vice Chancellor, BOU was present during the workshop sessions. Mr. AKM  Iftekhar Khalid, BOU coordinated the workshop.
