IIUI provides training on developing instructional materials for blended learning

The Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) in the International Islamic University, New Campus, Islamabad in Pakistan organised a training session on 8 May for faculty members of the Department of Education, Psychology, History and English on developing instructional material for the dual mode of learning. In his opening address Prof. Dr. N. B. Jumani, DDE and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, welcomed participants and introduced the resource persons of the training. Prof. Dr. Jumani briefed participants about the development of materials and the structure of the units. He emphasised the importance of activities for blended learning. 

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Javed Iqbal, a renowned expert in Distance Education and expert in the development of instructional material and currently working as Director Mass Education at Sarhad University, introduced Distance and Dual mode learning and what is involved in this approach. He discussed the writing of units and emphasised the importance of taking a quality-driven approach.  

Mr. Qasim Haider is a producer and expert in audio and video materials for distance education. He enlightened the participants about using visuals and media in dual learning and how these may be included in materials. 
The participants took keen interest in the training and expressed thanks to the organisers for providing them with this opportunity to interact and learn. The Director, DDE expressed gratitude to the resource persons for their valuable input while they assured their availability for any kind of support they may provide in this regard.
